Before you turn to the solutions
Every case has a check code, printed beside its hints. Work it out from your own placement and type it here: you will know whether everyone is where they should be, and the solution stays unread.
How the code works
Number the suspects in the order of the panel on the case page (1, 2, 3 and so on), multiply each number by the row where you placed that person, and add up the results. That is your check code. Swap any two people and the sum changes, so a wrong placement is caught.
The codes come from the same certified solutions as the books: before printing, proprietary software tried every arrangement of every plan and kept the one that fits all the clues.
